Upshi top attractions on manali leh highway

Upsi is a small settlement located on Manali Leh Highway where few villagers live. It is located at the end of Tanglang La toward Leh city.

The main occupation of some villagers is farming whereas some are Nomadic Changpa herdsmen who move around with their flocks of sheep and goats. There are few small restaurants where the travellers get option to take halt for tea and snacks. It is well settled on river bank. Every flood destroys this place making local people life hard.

Best time to visit: The months from June to October are considered to be the most suitable time.

Where to stay: There is no option of staying at this place. The nearest option is Pang or Sarchu or Leh.

How to reach: It can be reached from Manali & Leh. The distance from Manali is 395 km and from Leh is 85 km.

Weather: In summers days are cold & nights are extremely cold the temperature can go below-35 c. In winters the place is closed due to snowfall.
