When one think about Leh Ladakh trip, we normally think of few famous places like Nubra valley and pangong lake and few monasteries, which become famous overnight due to Bollywood movies like 3 idiots, tube light, race 3, Bhag milkha bhag etc.

Batalik is located between kargil and leh. There are only two ways to reach Leh  from kargil.

Kargil - Hamboting La Pass - Batalik Sector - Dha Hanu - (Aryan Valley) Khalsi - Saspul - Basgo - Nimmoo - Leh

Hamboting La (Pass)- It is located at an elevation of 4.056m (13307 FT) above sea level. Another highest pass which lead to Batalik sector. The steep cuts, vertical climbs, sheer drop and sharp turns make this route more adventures. This high pass leads to Batalik sector (which is very near to international border) Aryan Valley and then to Leh.

Batalik Sector- It is located on bank of Indus river. This was the main battleground-during the kargil war between India and Pakistan. This route offers some breath-taking Landscapes. This route is very beautiful as the whole route run along the  bank of Indus river. This is not an ordinary route.

People hardly choose this route as its a little bit difficult and very close to border thus one require ILP (Inner Line Permit) for this route. The ILP can be obtained from kargil an a day advance which require ID for Indian citizen. ID can be your DL, Passport, Voter ID card etc. 

Dha Hanu - Tourist are allowed to visit only these two villages among many others which are located in this region. These villages are called Aryan villages. The unique and flamboyant lifestyle and traditions of this Indo-Aryan race make it stand out & one of its kind left . They are believed to be descendants of Alexander Army. Thus the region is known as he land of Aryans. Due to lower altitude these villages are more warm and lush green. Marrying within the community to preserve their blood has let them retain their distinctive features as they have fair completion and blue eyes as a result their population is limited to thousands only.
